1980 Kawasaki Invader

No, it's not a motorcycle, but it is another vintage snowmobile.

Ever since I bought my 74 Cheetah and started tracking down parts for it I've become bitten with the Vintage sled bug.  I had seen this sled sitting in a yard on my bus route for about 3 weeks without a for sale sigh before I finally decided to stop and see if it was for sale.  I was figuring if it was for sale it would be out of my price range but to my surprise, I picked it and a stripped down parts sled up for the measly sum of $200!
Well, I've since found out why it was only $200.
The tunnel and belly pan has been and repaired and are not in the greatest shape so it looks like this will end up being just a "beater" sled and I'll just run it like it is.  I will admit it's been good for learning how to do repairs and tune ups.
So far, i've replaced the slides, suspension shock, and have had the pleasure of replacing the drive axel and chain case when the axel broke during a vintage run.  I do have to admit that it's a fun sled "when" it's running so I guess i'll be looking for another one in better shape to go along with this one and my growing collection of vintage cat's.
